This week I visited the wonderful Cliveden House in Taplow, Buckinhamshire, and was lucky enough to film inside. Watch my video to see the footage, and how to make your perfect cucumber sandwiches for afternoon tea.
Ingredients
- ½ Cucumber
- tiny pinch salt
- tiny pinch white pepper
- un salted Butter
- 4 slices of fresh soft white bread
Instructions
- Peel the skin off the cucumber, and cut into thin slices
- Lay slices on a paper towel to soak up any excess juice as you don’t want soggy sandwiches
- Sprinkle with salt and pepper
- Butter up your bread generously and lay cucumbers around making an even layer
- Cut off the crusts and firmly but gently press the sandwich together and cut into neat fingers…
- Eat as soon as possible
