Forget the jars this Christmas, learn how to make your very own Cranberry Sauce. You’ll be impressing the in laws with this one!
Ingredients
300g / 2 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
1 eating apple, peeled and chopped into small bits
Juice of 1 orange
Zest of 1 orange
125g / ¾ cup caster sugar
5 tbsp / ¼ cup /50ml Port
¼ tsp allspice
Instructions
Pop all the ingredients into a large saucepan apart from 1 tablespoon of the port
Bring to the boil
Turn heat down and leave to simmer uncovered for 8 to 10 minutes or until it goes thick and mushy When it’s ready stir in the last tablespoon of port
Leave to cool and serve with your Christmas dinner
