Caramelized Red Onion Humous

Making your very own styled up hummus is so quick and easy and very impressive!
Ingredients
- 2 large red onions sliced
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tin of chickpeas
- 1 spoon of cream cheese (use light cream cheese if prefer)
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 heaped tsp tahini paste
- Pinch of salt
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to gas 5 / 190c
- Start by roasting the red onions
- Put the sliced onions on to a large baking tray, sprinkle with balsamic vinegar, olive oil and salt and pepper
- Put into a hot oven for 30 minutes giving a turn a couple of times
- Take out leave to cool
- Once they are cooled put ¾ of the onions into a blender with the rest of the ingredients
- Blend until nice and smooth
- To serve, drizzle a little olive oil on top and a the leftover caramelised red onions
Notes
Note: If you are dairy free then you can just leave out the cream cheese and it is still delicious
