This could quite easily be my favorite Christmas chocolate. Whilst slowly biting into one of these fine chocolates my mind was saying surely I must be able to make these myself. So off I set to create my very own version, and you know what? They actually taste like a Ferrero Rocher! This was one of my finest moments.
Ingredients
200g Nutella (chocolate spread)
200g Dark chocolate melted
7 Wafer thin biscuits (I used ice cream wafers)
100 g whole Roasted hazelnuts
50g finely chopped roasted hazelnuts
Small baking tin lined with greaseproof paper
Instructions
Pour 1/3 of the melted chocolate into your baking tin
Break up half of your wafer biscuits and sprinkle over the chocolate
Then the whole roasted hazelnuts
Dollop the chocolate spread all over and smooth down
Add another layer of broken up wafer biscuits
Pour the remaining melted chocolate over the top
And lastly the chopped hazelnuts
Smooth everything together so the chocolate is covering the chopped hazelnuts
Leave in the fridge to set for 1 hour,
You can cut into bite size pieces and serve, or wrap individually to give as a present.
These will keep in an air tight container for up to 2 weeks in the fridge
